[NEWS] YG REVEALS, “WE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF CL’S FIRST SOLO SINGLE”

The english translation for CL‘s first solo single “나쁜기집애” which is to be released on the 28th has been changed by YG Entertainment on the 23rd.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, YG Entertainment revealed through Star News, “We first decided to use Bad Girl as the title of CL’s solo single, and we announced it on the morning of the 23rd. After announcing, CL commented ‘What if we change the english title to The Baddest Female instead?’, and we considered it, so the title of CL’s first solo single is now The Baddest Female.”

Eversince before, CL liked the word The Baddest Female so much and even when she’s giving her sign to fans, she uses this as it is her trademark. Even though CL approved Bad Girl to be the title of her single, The Baddest Female was also one of the titles they were considering along with Bad Girl even before. Although CL is known to be kind and polite, once she goes up on stage, she aims to show her cool and bad girl side, thus making her love the phrase The Baddest Female. So to acknowledge CL‘s opinion, they decided to change the english title to THE BADDEST FEMALE.

Meanwhile, when asked if they changed the title because it’s almost similar to the title of Lee Hyori’s track, YG answered “No way. Bad Girl is the english title that we decided to give for CL’ s first solo single ever since then.“
